Pros

- Cheap benefits - Reasonable compensation - Decent for the sake of having a job

Cons

- Systems are from the ice age; makes job 10xs more difficult to manage - Lack of consistency and organization from management - Limited growth opportunities (employees wait 6-7 years for promotions) - Lack of hiring from within - Culture does not value diversity; mgmt only champions their own ideas - Employees are treated like children and constantly micro-managed

Disappointing Fall of a Giant

Pros

A few veterans left with lots of institutional knowledge and focus on customer service.

Cons

New management who ignore the voices of the long tenured employees. Self-serving executives with short- versus long-term perspectives on how to turn the ship around to regain market share. Sad end to a company that was once an industry leader. Gary Pruitt's imprint is long gone. He always said if you take care of the employees, they'll take care of the customers. If the customers are taken care of, the shareholders will be taken care of. That philosophy has been replaced with take care of the executive and screw the rest.

Coworkers are great, management needs a complete overhaul.

Pros

Pay is decent. There are some great lower level managers. Hours are good. That's really about all though.

Cons

No room for advancement, no career growth advice. Favoritism runs rampant, and promotions are based on who likes you, not based off of performance. Upper management is completely out of touch with its employees. Most of management micromanages to the nth degree.
