Pros

Still thinking... Thought i had something, but no. I'll keep thinking about it

Cons

Univar discards its employees. Bring up a concern about what they call compliance, get ready to be squeezed out the door. Stand up to management and refuse to be treated like an old, worn mat, get ready to be squeezed out the door.... See the trend? I worked for Univar for over a decade. The last year has been an everyday struggle between being treated like smelly trash and fighting to do the right thing despite the current. At the end i had to make a choice between my own integrity and a pay check. Don't be fooled by the amount of money thats been spent on making the company look "sexy". At best its a misrepresentation, at worst, from my perspective its just lies. Univar does its best to get employees to quit. They support blatantly hostile work environments and as employees quit they often do not replace them, forcing such on realistic work loads on the remaining employees that they too begin to drop one by one. This company wants an IPO no matter what the cost. Employees, truth, integrity and good citizenship are all expendable. Unless you too are soulless, this isnt a good place to work. Read When Sociopaths Go To Work and you'll get it.

Rapid decline of a once great company

Pros

Shockingly, Univar has managed to retain some wonderfully talented employees.

Cons

Univar treats it's employees as disposable. The company is rampant with bullying, harassment and an utter lack of interest in its employees. Employees are over worked, under paid and under constant threat of firing and retribution when violation of company policies and compliance standards are brought to the attention of management. Univar talks a lot of talk about safety and protecting its employees, customers and the environment but doesn't walk the walk. Employees are consistently misled as to the companies stability, potential move, and financial outlook. Amid the compliance issues, safety issues and day to day incidents where the company falls short there is the incredibly sad practice of hiring new, less qualified people forcing long term employees out the door. It's a shameful environment that is intentionally designed to cut people, standards and operating expenses.

Pros

There use to be plenty, now there are none.

Cons

Most directors I worked with were flat out dishonest. Buddy system works well in this company. Some newly hired GMs are known to be even worse, since they are buddies of CEO and president. Lot of good people have left this place.
