      Pros

      From my hire date in 2009 the company was running well. Good employees. Lots of senior staff had been working for 10 plus years. Decent pay for an entry level job.

      Cons

      As the years went out more cuts were being made to save money. One of the best salesmen was laid off. And older staff were forced into early retirement. There is no respect for employees and very little promotion. Im assuming the new hires from last few years are getting paid less then the positions paid before. Company gives no references at all. And definitely a gentlemens club when it comes to senior management.

      Good local people at branch. Decent benefits.

      Cons

      Too many to list. If you can, stay away from this horror show. As with most big companies, they only care about the all-mighty dollar and could care-less about you and your family. Upper management is blinded by their own perceived image in the mirror to actually understand what their branches need. Everything is run by email and an 1985 computer system. Awesome for time travel if you're into that. I can't stress enough to stay away from Univar.

      Pros

      They have to pay well to attract talent. Their retirement matching is a nice perk if you decide to stick around long enough.

      Cons

      Pretty much everything else. The politics, non-stop churn at all levels (a VP or Director exits eery other week), the unrealistic timelines, the knee-jerk executive demands, spineless management and overall disfunction are overwhelming at Univar.
