I had a good time

Pros

The best part was the people, there was some extraordinary talent and I learnt a lot.

Cons

It's not immune from big company politics. Project managers generally wielded way too much power in the org however that seemed to improve while I was there. I had an interest in pivoting to a different specialty while there, and while they will say openly that they support this, I found the reality quite different.

Pros

- Great teams - Great training program - Lower Management cares for you and you feel supported - Good mental health support

Cons

- Upper management, HQ, takes decisions without consulting people affected by it. - Learning about big decisions through medias first. - Salary are not competitive. - Benifices removed without any compensation or alternative. - Bad work Life balance with the return in office. - Depending of location of the studio, the cost of living is too expensive for the salary you get.

Pros

Standard benefits and employee activities.

Cons

- Untrustworthy; Blatantly lies to its employees, like about their promise to keep WFH and the true reason behind it. - Tries hard to be like big tech firms with fancy perks to keep employees in the office. - Overall horrible business decisions and incompetent upper management. - Useless HR who choose to protect the company over employee well-being in the face of harassment and workplace toxicity. - Constantly moves goalposts when it comes to salary raises, bonuses, and promotions, giving some vague canned excuse. The good leads always have to fight tooth and nail to get a raise or bonus approved. - Sees QA as canon-fodder and thinks sub $30K is acceptable for the amount of work involved because of the "privilege and prestige of working at Ubisoft". - Sh!t games. Bar none.
