NAVSOC, or the Naval Satellite Operations Center must be avoided at all costs. Understaffed Do NOT come here as a GS07, GS09 or GS11 VERY HIGH TURNOVER rate Career Suicide No vision Bad management Everyone is eligible for retirement.

Pros

Great Chance to serve your country. Interesting job path, plenty of opportunities to see the world. The mission is great, and you help your fellow Americans. Solid pay as compared to peers if you graduated from a middle-tier university. Excellent health plan.

Cons

Unfortunately, the worst sort of people tend to stay in the military till retirement. The intelligence community is to full of folks who want to prove that they are "real" soldiers/sailors, and thus focus way to much time on appearances at the expense of getting the job done. No retirement benefits for anyone who stays in less than 20 years.

Work with unintelligent people doing monotonous work.... Also being spoken to very rudely by upper chain of command.
