Pros

- Everyone wants the benefits of being a federal worker. - Growth opportunities. - If you have a good boss, there are a lot of pros and you'll find that out right away. - There are few souls here that you'll meet who are helpful, kind, personable and stay positive. You will know right away who those people are.

Cons

- POLITICS. - You're greeted by seeing "CEO" Trump's orange mugshot on the wall each day you come in to work. Run away as fast as you can. - Turn over rate in the Staffing department is high. - Not all branch heads know how to be good supervisors. There are few that are great and you will know first hand by seeing how many of their staff have remained and look happy to be there. - You either get a job here through connections, favoritism and politics. Not everyone that's currently working here has military experience, a vet, military spouse or currently in school for human resources. There's a loophole to get you in. FACT! - Office gossip is normal here. There are pockets of employees who complain constantly to others about other employees and their work. You can sadly hear this just by sitting in your cubicle space, while in the restrooms and break rooms. Stay far away from those energy vampires. - At any time, you may be placed in a different department doing something else depending on their needs. - Lack of communication

Pros

Benefits are amazing everybody knows that your pay is pretty solid you never have to worry about it even if you go on a government shutdown there's usually something saying that Department of Defense will be paid or Navy Federal pay you anyways Healthcare amazing. If you calculate your housing allowance into your pay you'll be surprised to know that you can actually make quite a good amount of money I don't know why some people say that it does not count you're going to have to pay rent anyways so County.

Cons

Unpredictable schedule. Time away from home obviously. The most annoying thing to me is that you the quality of your life depends almost entirely on who is directly in charge of you. Now that is similar to most civilian employment main difference being you get to leave civilian employment if you want it.
