Pros

Good salary, good perks. Able to feel you are doing something for the nation. Get to meet all kinds of people, many great to work with.

Cons

Govt red tape, slow, personnel change over. Policy sometime outdated, or do it the old way mentality. sometime underappreciated. Brown nosers!

Great benefits and travel opportunities. Pay scale is above average for the geographic area. Good medical and OK Dental plan, not subject to the current changes in process.

Cons

Good Old Boy Network is highly in effect! If you want to advance in the world of government, dont rock the boat and maintain a level attitude.
