Great team atmosphere. Great perks - GI Bill, travel, certifications that are honored world-wide. A sense of being a part of something larger than yourself.

Cons

It was becoming too much like a corporation and not a military branch when I separated. PCS'ing and the whole MPF system needed an overhaul. In Intel, too much focus on worldwide events and not enough focus on tactical application of intelligence data.

Pros

Had a great experience with the united states air force. Coming from low income and no hopes for college, the united states air force gave me the motivation and extra push to pursue my degree and actually try chasing my dream job.

Cons

It's hit or miss whether you'll be one of those people who will get to travel the world and see many different places, or end up being one of the people who gets stuck at one base for a huge majority of your career. I ended up being one of those people who joined the military to get away from home, and got stationed at a base 2 hours from home and spent my entire career there with 0 deployments/travel

Great benefits in terms of tax free allowances and premium free health care. Great job satisfaction and world travel that allows you to experience many perspectives and cultures.

Cons

Long deployments of 7 months to a year could affect home/family life. Moves every 2-4 years could disrupt family life as well as being away from extended family.
