If you’re at a store with location allowance, the pay is decent for the type of job. Ideal for students who want holiday work or someone who needs a part time job. Ideal for someone who needs a short term job. Often overtime available and easy to book. The occasional manager is really good and will support you.
Cons
Often understaffed, causing a strain on staff. Depending on your department you could be doing the job of 2-3 people with little to no support or compensation. Frequent changes to lower management and team leaders. Most of which are under qualified for the role and don’t possess good management/leadership qualities. Good managers tend to leave quickly. Blame gets passed down to the lower paid staff and there’s very little positive feedback/appreciation. Verbal abuse from customers. Very repetitive and very little job satisfaction in the long term. Management and team leaders can be rude and belittling.
