Pros

Lovely colleges, made some good friends over the period I was there. Pays at least minimum wage. Not a lot else.

Cons

I am disabled and was employed for a short period at tesco, as my disease advanced I began to really struggle with my job so was discussed with management and told that I would be moved to tills. Three days later I was "laid off" and told they were making cuts and anyone on a temporary contract across the store was being let go. I later discovered that I was the only person in store who was "laid off" and that they employed four new staff two days after I was let go. Constantly berated by management over my disability, any time I was in pain or injured I was disciplined and I was regularly picked at over my medical leg braces and footwear needed to accommodate them.

Pros

Very friendly people, have onsite canteens, loads of cool benefits, great offices, work/life balance. Main pro is the people who worked there (at least when i was there).

Cons

The pyramid structure at Tesco means you are in levels one or two mostly, the salary band is very vast, but was obvious that not all promotions where work based, rather kissing up to your boss... always a no-no. They also have a very disturbing graduate scheme in which they tend to only recruit posh folk and attractive girls... the latter not so much an issue for me, but definitely noticeable its not about skill but who you know. So main issues are mates in senior positions giving their mates better rates...
