Pros

You become a manager as you gain experience. You can travel to other countries if you wish.

Cons

Technical competence is not highly wanted. As long as you have average skill to develop a working code, it will suffice. Limited oppurtunities to work on cutting edge technologies. Any software(including microsoft office) required will not be provided unless client bears the cost.

Pros

-Job security -Onsite travel opportunities -Very clean and modern premises -Compensation is good as per industry standards -Real career growth happens after you spend atleast three years in the company -Timings are not stressful. -If you get into a project with the latest technology and tools, your career growth will accelerate

Cons

-Many of the people in middle management were incompetent and narrow minded. Some were down right abusive. -If you don't get into a good project with helpful colleagues and the latest technology, your career can take a sharp downturn -Resource managers are very rude, often you have to beg them for projects, or wait by their desk for hours before you can speak to them -Often, an associate is treated like a commodity. You have no identity here, just an employee id and a set of skills. -The above factors lead to office politics and employees climbing over one another in order to be recognized by management. -The HR is often unable to help address employee grievances due to a lack of power over management, or due to a lack of interest. -Many times during performance appraisal, you are not rated based on your performance, but ranked along the other senior members of your team, leading to a low rating.

Flexibility, Onsite opportunities, TATA brand, Executive management

Cons

Promotions and appraisals system must be changed-Team member always screwed up, not the boss. There must be two way appraisal or 360 appraisal-Middle layer management forms a league and understands the lower layer employees/management. - Resource management group must be revived to understand the associates career point of view and organisations business goals. Most of the time Resource management group never cosnider the associates interest.
