Pros

Some flexibility - you make your own schedule. This also means that the expectation is for you to be available any time. There is very little work life balance. Some sales consultants who earn trips don’t even take them because they are too worried about not bonusing for the week. The culture is an old boys club - you have to like sports, you have to like heavy metal music, and you have to like drinking or you will not feel comfortable being yourself at larger sales meetings.

Cons

Sysco is ultimately accountable to shareholders and this is who you work for. Compensation amount and structure changes whenever executives need to show greater profits and buy back stock. There is really no job security.
