Pros

Getting a subway cos I love the food

Cons

I worked there back in 2019 - my first shift I was left on my own to close the shop. - I almost broke my finger from the cabinet that opens displaying the food, basically the hook was dodgy and as I was putting in some food, my finger was resting on the edge and all of a sudden the cabinet slammed down onto my finger, cut me open, I was bleeding for like half an hour, I was on my own btw. I then tried to call the manager at the time and she was like “what do you want me to do about it” so I rang someone I worked with and they luckily came, so I left the shop with a damaged finger, even now my finger has a lump in it.

Pros

Non. It was first time employment and first introduction to working part time. This is the Whiston branch and the rest of the franchise is in Warrington. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!

Cons

Lack of training and development. No support from the branch Manager who thinks that leading the team means to get angry and blame everyone else. Manager does not know how to manage effectively and can’t plan at all. Poor planning and poor communication causing low morale in the Whiston branch in Merseyside. The owners of the franchise don’t care how the managers work and can’t see that all the recruitment and retention problems are down to bad manager. Asking for holidays is seen as an inconvenience and the manager is lazy and makes bad judgement of when she should be supporting her team.

Pros

free subs. you are not alowed them. but try stop me when you have left me alone

Cons

Worked in a subway during the pandemic. Had a horrible time. I would be left alone during busy times with a que out the door and all the take away machines going off. i was made "team leader" but in reality all this meant was i was 10p over the min wage and had to do everything by my self.
