Pros

it's the easiest restaurant job. easy to learn, laid back, no grease or fryers, and easy setup and take down. flexible schedules, pretty chill customers.

Cons

i've been assistant manager for 2 years now. started in high school and worked through shift leader into management (i'm 22 now). titles in subway don't mean much but its a plus to go on your resume. been busting my butt: inventory, opening, closing, fixing the staff schedules that the store manager messes up, making cleaning lists, running to the bank, the whole sha-bang. i make 8.00/hr. i go to my franchise owner and ask for a raise. what does he tell me? "why should i pay you more for doing what you're suppose to do?" WWWHHHAAAATT?!?....so i posted my resume on Career Builder and have scheduled an inteview with another subway franchise as store manager, and assistant front of house manager with ruby tuesday. both paying over 11.00/hr and benefits. i love the restaurant business, but subway is not a real career unless you own it. i'm taking my leadership abilities somewhere that will support my efforts.

Pros

This job was a summer job that was close to home.

Cons

My boss favored members of her family when assigning hours and hiring. She also did not trust her employees. If there was a customer complaint then that was the reality, even if the client was an individual who was known for complaining and the other workers at the time agreed that a rule was not broken. I was also told there was a chance of pay raises in the interview, but even individuals who had worked there awhile had not received any.

Pros

Easy work, great promotions for sales and a big company. As long as you work hard and are nice to customers you'll have job security.

Cons

Obviously, not all customers are the most understanding and you have to constantly explain the prices and the process of ordering, but that is nothing you wouldn't expect from a customer service job.
