Pros

Great work life balance. Good pay. Friendly co-workers.

Cons

Over regulated. Very little room for creativity. You are not given adequate tools to do your work effectively. Instead you have to rely on finding work-arounds for almost any development task. Extremely inefficient and slow software development environment. The managers are confused and lack leadership. Assignments are very vague, and it is almost impossible to get clear information on anything. Instead you have to rely on asking multiple people for guidance anytime you start a new project. Heavily dependent on third party libraries with almost no documentation. Very frustrating work-environment.

Pros

First and foremost, good and intellectually challenging work. Then, personalized and friendly environment, management listens and tries to help wherever it can. Though this last thing has now been reduced due to some factors. See in the cons.

Cons

Now with a lot of pros, there is only one con I can think of. After French company Dassault Systemes acquired SolidWorks in 1997, it was still going on at its own pace, it was its own decision maker. But now for past 2 years they've tried to merge all the companies working for one goal (which is a good thing) decided by the people in France. But in this process none of the decisions are left to SolidWorks people, and they are a bit hesitant to send our needs across.
