Pros

The members of the founding executive team truly understood the value and importance of respecting each individual employee. They demanded much from each person, and acknowledged the positive contributions. Employees were encouraged to suggest improvements both to the product and the operations without fear of reprisal. Employees could try new things, perhaps fail, and be acknowledged for their initiative, effort and any positive results.

Cons

As the parent company exerted more control of SolidWorks, a new executive team was put in place. The new executive team was very efficient and successful; however they began to treat the employees as company resources and assets rather than human beings. To be acknowledged, you needed to be part of the "preferred" group of employees.

Pros

The team is very talented and motivated to deliver functionality to the customer base. The rule has always been to give >80% of the what the big products deliver for <50% of the price. The teams will always work together to solve problems.

Cons

The solutions are regularly rejected by Dassault management without explanation or compromise. The upper management fails to understand that the Solidworks product line addresses a different market than the Catia brand. They insist on applying large market methods to Soldiworks product line. The employees are no longer afforded status within the larger company. There is no certainty of how the Brand will continue. Automony is lost on all levels under and One Company mantra.
