Interesting & challenging domain; but definitely not a place to recommend to your friends

The domain is pretty interesting and challenging -- I must say. The problems that we solve for our customers are also at times unique and stretch your limits. Infact that is the only thing that is keeping me still here.
Cons
I've been working as FTE from last 6.5 years in Bangalore R&D division and all these years the only thing I witnessed was how one individual can hold others to ransom -- just to satisfy his own ego. The ego for this guy (and known people can easily relate to who I am referring to) is so important that most of the times, the decisions are taken (or forced down) according to his whims. Not only the employees but his own managers are also treated like dirt by this individual. Unfortunately, the power he has over the management is so much that he can get away with literally anything. There is a real fear among employees to say the things openly because we ourselves have seen what had happened to few employees (including a manger) couple of years ago. There is a fear of backlash when you speak against this individual. My sincere advice to others would be to stay away from this company tilll this guy is calling the shots.
