Pros

The cafeteria is lovely. You have parking area

Cons

Leaders are horrible - they aren't classed as leaders but more like BOSSES! Very biased and racist leaders. They DO NOT care for their employees at all. Luckily John the so called CPO has left the company. Although his title says Chief People Officer, he is not at all a people person. Alec who is a so called Head of Comms, just doesn't know how to communicate with the business in his comms and ends up being very harsh in his articles that end up hurting employee's feelings (very arrogant and shrewd person). Managers on the floor as well aren't very great. If you're working for Shell Energy - you're just another number for them making them money. People don't last long there because the work culture isn't good at all. This place is filled with bossy and arrogant people. No scope for development. You will only get a chance to develop if you are good buddies with the bosses!

Pros

No Pros for this company.

Cons

Promotion after 4 years of buttering only. No respect in the workplace at all. Manager bash at their reporting employees like anything. Managers sexually harass their employees as well. No appreciation & recognition until you do something that saves them money. It's been hell for me and for other as well. There's a reason there are around 40+ opening because people are leaving. Nobody wants to stay here. If you put papers, they'll treat you like animals. This is worst than many service based company. The pay grade is damn below the average. If the HR is saying, you'll get lots of benefit, don't believe them that's a scam. One you join the company there is nothing called as perks. Please leave this company even after a month of joining. This is a sh** place to work for. There is no career opportunity. Once you get in a team, you'll be there forever until unless you leave. No learning. Lots of favoritism.

Pros

Well I did not find any

Cons

1. No clarity from the management side. 2. Over-politics, Extreme Bias, managers only say vague words, for example when asked about FOW, before the email came officially, nobody will speak about it. 3.There are few preferred people by managers over others and they get to know all information. Rest sit like ducks. 4. Lack of responsibility especially seen in MOST JG5 or higher people, they just think they can treat us, JG6 people like slaves. 5. No respect, no value, nothing, it is a thankless job since Stakeholders often threaten us, and while you are at it, meaning hiring new people, I would say, give them a disclaimer, you are going to be treated as slaves. 6. Managers especially LM's are for what? They only have a motley group of people wherefrom they think they can reap all benefits. 7. Often LM's ask "How much did you bring to the table?"- As a reply I would say "I am working as an associate data scientist in Renewable Energy work which involves a thorough research and thinking and it's value cannot be immediately realized. So then I am value-less to you if you think it is so. Also when I have repeatedly asked the stakeholders to liaise with the LM to give a clarity about the value I have generated, neither the stakeholders do that, sometimes they don't even know that! Now after repeated asking also if they do not say how much value I generated, you are silent, why?" 8. I work for more than 12 hours, now you may be saying - "No No this will tell upon your health and so on". I call it Fussing or showing artificial care and all. Nonsense! I also need to work on weekends and public holidays to make my ends meet. You see a research problem needs thinking, innovation, now what Shell does- Take a code left over by someone else and now work upon it and if you want to change it, the stakeholders will immediately say "Why are you doing this? We can't change the code.. What will happen in the next year, do we need to change the code again!". Now narrow minded stakeholders- "If the data changes, what options do you have?". They now talk about reusability of code, most of them don't even know how to code properly. 9. No communication between peers, only a handful of them does. If I try to participate in many events, I will be labeled as someone seeking "Extra Attention". 10. JG6 or lower Associate Data Scients and Analysts need at least a 25% hike. Else We will openly, but anonymously revolt on social networks, everywhere. DON'T UNDERESTIMATE US, YOU THINK WE ARE SLAVES, YOU SEE IF THE SLAVES(WHOM YOU TREAT AS SLAVES) START REVOLTING, YOUR PYRAMIDS WILL FALL APART. KINDLY WATCH THE MOVIE 10000 BC. OFCOURSE YOU GUYS HAVE MORE TIME TO WATCH RRR OR ANY OTHER MOVIE, WHILE WE ASSOCIATE DATA SCIENTISTS ARE RESPONDING TO THIS CALLOUS SURVEY WHEN YOU ARE ENJOYING. 11. JG6 LEVEL ASSOCIATE DATA SCIENTISTS ARE AT PAR WITH THE ONGC E2 LEVEL. PAY US THAT SALARY, ELSE YOUR WHOLE STRUCTURE WILL CRUMBLE DOWN- AND THIS IS A NAKED WARNING. WE WILL NOT WAIT UNTIL 2H, 2022 AND WE WILL NOT BE SATIATED BY THE RETENTION BONUS PULLED BACK TO JUNE. PERMANENTLY INCREASE OUR SALARIES AT PAR WITH THE PSU LEVELS AND OUR APPRAISALS ALSO SHOULD BE AT PAR WITH THE PSU STANDARS. WE HAVE PASSED OUT FROM PRIMIERE INSTITUTE. DON'T CONSIDER US AS IDIOTS! 12. SO MENTION ALL THESE 12 POINTS ON LINKEDIN, IF YOU CAN'T I SHALL DO THAT ANONYMOUSLY.
