Pros
For employees of Sephora, bonuses are breathtakingly generous. They enjoy an easy commute and attractive offices, and they receive a staggering amount of free stuff ("gratis") from beauty brands and vendors. It is a youngish, growing company, and it can feel really good to be part of such a recognizable brand.
Cons
After just a few weeks, I noticed huge disorganization in my team and its projects. I also saw a tendency among team members to seek scapegoats for the lack of organization. Before my work on one project was complete, five people had been fired and two disciplined for things they didn't do -- because the project schedule did not allow for adequate periods of production and review. At the same time, I also noticed huge amounts of money wasted on parties and catering, and other lapses (a stack of new iPads, still in their boxes, left unattended on a cafeteria table for hours on a day when the security doors were open and visitors were walking in and out). Yet my department did not have a full-time senior project manager, writer, or designer on staff.
