Pros

More gratis than you could ever use; generous bonus structure; gained a lot of practical industry knowledge; great vacation policy; fun holiday parties and Town Hall meetings. Ongoing structure to acknowledge others' exemplary contributions in formal or informal presentations.

Cons

Fostered a community of immature, vacuous, catty colleagues. Work/life balance is a company value but not executed in many channels.

Pros

You feel proud of yourself for getting the job, it sounds cool to say you work at Sephora, you do get access to great brands, there is free beauty products

Cons

Backstabbing, politics and cattiness run rampant. Tenured employees and VPs are only stakeholders. Extremely top-heavy company. Do not expect a voice. HR is the worst department because they have no power, and worse, no empathy. If you are unhappy, you will be shown the door. The compensation does not make up for the horrible company culture. There are no "bed-side manners" from any execs. Be warned - you think it will be awesome but you will end up hating your life.

Pros

You get to play with make up before the store opens, free discontinued or new products from sales reps, and you also get a 20% employee discount! You are

Cons

You are required to wear a full face of make-up, not a big deal for people who have tons of time...challenging if you have another (more messy) job, or kids. Working weekends was the worst! Also, I was hired as a fragrance consultant because I didn't posess a cosmetology license, (my 4 year fine art degree didn't adequately prepare me to sell blush to pimply teens according to middle management) . What they don't (and should) require is a degree in criminology, because there are at times more shoplifters than customers
