Pros

Unsurpassed training programs. Opportunities to travel to attend trainings are often (and paid for) TONS of free product (gratis) given to you all the time. (You will never have to buy beauty products again, no matter if you're full time or part time; seasonal employees sometimes are left out of the gratis.) You will be able to move up very quickly within the company if you show your desire to. Work-Life balance is one of their highest values, and it shows.

Cons

Starting wage can seem low, especially if you are a trained makeup professional with credentials. I recommend this job to someone who does makeup as a passionate hobby, because if you go out and pay for an education in beauty school, you will not enjoy the compensation at Sephora. That being said, someone who has a knack for makeup or skincare and has a background in customer service will love this job because all training is provided, its fun, and you really come out feeling like you received an education you should have paid for.

Pros

1.Values based company(work life balance, teamwork, passion for clients, initiative, etc) 2. Gratis 3. Company invests thousands of dollars in your development( training that includes airfare, meal and hotel accommodations if traveling) 4. Fun environment where the majority of fellow teammates are very vested in sephora's culture. 5. Lot's of growth potential from leadership, educator roles, and PRO Team. 6. You don't have to be licensed to work at Sephora as long as you are passionate about learning! You learn so much from experience and client interactions! There is NO WAY that as a makeup artist in school that you would have the opportunity to work on 60+ faces a day! Plus with different skin tones, concerns, shapes, etc. 7. Perfect for product junkies that just want to play with new products, experiment with colors, and SECRETLY shop while working on clients........ all day long! ;) 8. NON COMMISSION based. Team goals and bonuses. Monthly sales bonus and quarterly service bonuses. The highest level in sales bonus is like 25% of your gross monthly income!

Cons

Every store is different. Make sure that the store you are looking to get hired at has a solid team. ESPECIALLY the leadership team. The leadership team you work with could make or break your experience with the company. Become a frequent client before applying at the location. Maybe set up a makeup appointment to have your makeup done so you can hash it up with the makeup artists about how they like their job. Talk to more than one person about it. There is always someone that is a bad egg on THEIR way out so their opinion may not be the ONLY one you want.

Pros

The work environment of a store can be fun, having worked at multiple, they are all different The gratis is a plus and a great way to experience the plethora of products that Sephora houses. The ability to network with brands is a great way to introduce yourself and possibly seek an alternate avenue if given the opportunity. If the position entails traveling, this is a great experience to see how Sephora is spreading the standard of beauty industry and its services.

Cons

Sephora likes to be innovative. They have created a very unique and relatable way for clients to express their shopping experiences, and with what I have noticed, all members of management, even consultants, take great pride in that. However, I think that they take on way too much and it overlaps what should be focused on. Education lead...PBA...POS mobile...Sephora, you might be an engineer for presenting many opportunities, but you lose focus due to too many introductions.
