      Sanofi-Aventis is a good place to work

      Pros

      Mangers value work life balance and allow their employees to have more flexibility in their day to day lives. Pays are generally competitive. Bonuses are paid on time and no deferring.

      Cons

      Performance reviews are done more on personal relationship with the bosses rather than on act ual performance. Very traditional ways of thinking and things do not move fast enough. Promotions are mostly to people who have worked in the company for a long time rather than for those who come from outside.

      Pros

      Good benefits, Market leader products, good managed care coverage on many top products.

      Cons

      strongly micromanaged, few products in pipeline ready to come to market, generic intrusion on top products, deep cuts in sales force, lack of communication between senior level mgmt and employees, promotions given on who you know rather than on solid merit. The sales force is in constant fear of downsizing. Lack of motivation.

      Great benefits but poor work environment

      Pros

      This place had the best benefits of any place that I could ever want to work at. Great place for learning and development (I had an opportunity to work with many things while I was there). Some of the employees there were great mentors for my personal career growth.

      Cons

      Extremely poor management which led to very high turnover. There was constant restructuring and reorganization which is why I had a new manager every single year it seemed. Many employees get "pigeon holed" with the constant reorganizations. Very little room for career advancement in the company. Offered employees lots of time off but then never gave the time with which to take it.
