Benefits, opportunity to learn and position some genuinely interesting technologies to larger enterprises [typically Salesforce Professional Services will work in that space]

In the past plagued with terrifying politics / inter-group warfare, but I sense the situation has improved since my day. My understanding of what has happened in more recent history [since I left] suggests that Salesforce don't necessarily value their best and brightest, and in consequence there is attrition where you really don't want it. Some shaving off of headcount seems to have been somewhat 'automated' and has focused on the most expensive resources within a job description - sometimes their salary was increased [by a human manager] for a reason....
