Mixed feelings..

Pros

I genuinely enjoy my job and feel lucky to work with such a talented team. I have ownership of my projects and get to be both creative and analytical in my day-to-day work. The office location is convenient for me, which has become even more important with the recent hybrid changes. The yearly bonus for hitting targets is also a nice incentive.

Cons

The salary isn't competitive, and opportunities for progression are very limited unless someone leaves the team. Even then, internal competition is high, so it could take years to move up. There's an unspoken expectation to go 'above and beyond' just to be considered for promotion, even if you're already performing exceptionally well. Ongoing lay-offs and constant restructuring create a persistent sense of uncertainty, which affects morale across the business. There is a hybrid workplan in place meaning we need to be in the office 3 days per week now, and although it's flexible, some have been given set days to come in by their managers which seems unfair. I do really feel for other employees especially those with childcare and caring responsibilities. Managers are now tracking IP addresses to understand who is not adhering to the new policy which has sparked mixed feelings. Recent internal comms have criticised employees for “wasting energy” by challenging the hybrid framework - yet significant time and resources are being spent building dashboards to track office attendance. It feels like the focus has shifted from supporting productivity and wellbeing to simply managing physical presence.

Pros

Foundation time is great to meet colleagues at the same time that you are giving back your community. I am glad to be part of this company that encourages you to give back and support the causes that are important for you, and care about.

Cons

I can't think about a con for foundation time or working at Sage, during my 8 months at this job I have only have positive experiences

Pros

The only saving grace is the camaraderie among fellow SDRs — you’ll bond through the chaos. Pay can be decent if you hit quota, which depends heavily on your vertical and a fair amount of luck.

Cons

Leadership is an absolute mess. Most frontline managers are new and don’t understand the processes or rules of engagement, which they’re supposed to enforce. Senior managers are combative, condescending, and quick to belittle reps publicly. Morale suffers constantly. The SDR director openly encouraged lying during a training session attended by 80+ reps — pushing outdated, bait-and-switch tactics that make you feel more like a scammer than a professional. Internal communication is broken, and collaboration across teams is hostile at best. It’s basically a call center now. Expect relentless call volume expectations and a constant sense of being disposable.
