Pros

Managers are flexible. Mine have been very good at giving me feedback. Your career opportunities are really as big as you want them to be, but you have to work at finding the path.

Cons

There is a tendency to jump from one trendy management program to another. It's not a fatal flaw, but it's annoying. There also seems to be a lack of structure when it comes to bettering yourself in your profession. Schlumberger does have a number professional improvement programs, and they develop them with the best of intentions, but they're often very hard to decipher for the uninitiated, and it takes so much time, you can't figure it out and do your job.

Pros

Get a lot of training, experience and knowledge of oilfield, a lot of pressure from above management and having to deal with different people, do whatever needed to do to execute the job - all of that is more than huge experience for just one job

Cons

No time off, pressure, training, little respect from management to people, almost no respect, bad working environments compared to other companies
