Becoming very top heavy, with very few career opportunities for new aspirants

Decent money in the starting, when you just enter new in the oilfield industry.

Cons

Field Engineer population gets burnt out very quickly, as they are overloaded and abused beyond limits. Soon after working for couple of years, they realize, that their job is monotonous with no creativity and innovation and they cannot grow any more in the company. And their counterparts who joined in other companies are in better position in life.

SLB has one of the best technologies in the sector and it feels good to be working with things that are the best. Their trainings are also very organized to ensure consistence of operational knowledge across all the locations SLB operates in.

Its overly competitive so peers dont normally trust each other. Not a very healthy culture. Jealousy is very obvious at times. Also at times the direction is not clear.
