Initial package is ok, location is nice, (apparently) relaxed culture. Schlumberger should be better known as a big player in software engineering. There is a large flexibility in the way you can tackle the work and learn on the job along with your colleagues if you like what you do.

Cons

Politics is more important than your work regarding your career. Don't rely on your technical skills to advance, it's about following the rules and making the right friends. You'll soon hit a ceiling even with outstanding technical proficiency.
