Pros

Great in terms of work life balance 22 + number of years in company = total annual leave, sick leave, examination leave work from home(though it is difficult to get approved) Good benefits for women (Maternity leave, individual trasnport during pregnancy, extended maternity) Relatively transperant communication except in some departments

Cons

Chances of growth are rare Learnibility very limited unless you can have access to information people at higher level, One keeps on working on same thing for years. Salaries scarce. Benfits going down day ( tranportation is now paid, was free earlier). No travel opportunities. Performance review ratings are often predecided betweeb managers in a department even before review of employees start. All in all a great compnay if you are on management level, excellent benefits. but if you are at a junior level chanvces of growth are minimum.

Pros

- 1. This is a large, financially healthy company. Even with a bad Q1 09 quarter (with 33% decrease in software license revenue), SAP still managed to keep the overall revenue flat, and get a substantial profit - 2. Time horizon is long, so you have time to learn the skills to do the job, and the job is relatively stable. No running around from one mission to another like in a consulting company - 3. Roles are well defined - 4. Pay and benefits is fair, and management is generally supportive - 5. Easy acces to the office from Paris

Cons

The downsides are directly linked to the advantages of working there - 1. This is a huge company with a lot of politics, many entities with conflicting goals, with a general sense of confusion. Also, a 33% decrease in software licenses is not a good sign for a software company - 2. You have to be patient and willing to cope with a heavy process overhead. Projects are very long so it is hard to see the impact of your work on the market... - 3. Roles are very specialized, and there is very little movement to advance your career - 4. No salary increase in 2009. Management does not encourage movement, but rather specialization - 5. Lack of fun

Pros

SAP is a large multinational company, which means that there are quite a few opportunities to change role and/or location at any given time. Good vacation policy. Varied work.

Cons

Since SAP is a large company, it doesn't really have a sense of unity. Management seems distant. The big picture plan for the company is a bit unclear. The company may be relying too much on acquisitions rather than innovating internally. Existing perks (e.g., company sanctioned barbecues) are being cut back to save on costs.
