Pros

The gaming culture is so open that you feel very confortable of who you are, how you look and most of the time your nerd jokes are going to be good for most of the people.

Cons

It consumes your life, not because there is not ways to have free time, but everyone is so passionate about it that they spend more time in the office that the should or need to.

Pros

Good culture, people is easy to work with but also have a healthy culture to ask questions and challenge others Flat structure - Even you have a manager or team leader, you have a lot of say to decide what to work on and your team will listen to you if it makes sense. Everyone is equal here. Ideas are more important than people. Staff have high degree of trust and everyone has good intention - Compare to previous company, staffs here trust each other in doing things with good intention. People here less worries about personal goal/career prospect/promotion but think more about what could be achieved/delivered as a team. Everyone here wants to make an impact to the gaming community. Staffs are willing to learn and grow - People here are willing to pick up new stuff even if they have no experience - It is ok to "fail" here. Failure is considered to be the path to success and opportunity to learn. Not political, effective to get things done - Coming from a banking industry, getting things done here is much much easier. The structure here is simple, people are willing to help you if they have bandwidth. Even if they don't have resource, they will talk to you to see how they could help in other way, or guide you to solve your problem yourself. High degree of freedom but everyone has the same vision and alignment to get things done - You are the person to manage your time. You can spend all of your time to slack :p but actually no one does that, just because everyone comes here want to achieve something. The culture here also aligns us to the same goal. Play game at work - It is unimaginable in previous company but in Riot, you manage your own time. You are free to relax to play games when you feel you are too stressed. Somehow I found it is effective because I am more efficient when I get back to work after a game.

Cons

Office is still quite packed and not big enough - Currently there is just a PC bang. No pool table/table tennis. - Not much free space LA still owns major products and HK is yet to develop to become independent studio - Simply because we are understaff and hiring is pain :p Less rest time/sleep since I joined here. Working in gaming industry requires you to be good/keep learning in your domain expertise and also spend time to play game, which could be quite demanding. Still relies on one game - League of Legends.
