Pros

Renault India Private Limited - RIPL , has been a wonderful bunch of smart people to work with, when French managers were at the helm. It was day 1 everyday ( learn something new and excel everyday) without crisis of a startup. Some of the best review and performance tracking documents developed indigenously inhouse without any atrocious payments made to any Consulting Firm.

Cons

Ever since takeover by Indian management, it has been nothing but blatant display of nepotism and cronyism. Promotions and key positions are reserved for special disciples. Micromanagement is the leadership style. Daily tasks included data preparation, mimicking standardised reports in different templates (Re-invent the wheel everyday). Management will form committees to stay abreast of latest trends, only to use these committees as a conduit to abuse employees. Incompetency is applauded and rules over meritocracy; Plagiarism triumphs over innovation; sycophancy is the code of conduct, to such an extend that even the birthday cakes / food for festival celebration need to be ordered from a certain bakery, as it is owned by wife of a member of leadership team (Isn't it a conflict of interest ?). Cost of a cake is equivalent to circa 3 doses of Covid vaccine in India; cake revenue for this member of leadership outweighs the need for innoculation of staff. Tough sales months are often dealt with concept of 3Cs - Collusion , Connivance and Coercion. Collude with middle managers , Connive with network partners and Coerce employees to force error in judgement, which will be eventually used as a pipeline of sources to coerce further. Impunity to middle managers have resulted in personal fiefdoms in departments and zones. Expense claims are often withheld by middle managers to exercise authority over subordinates , while senior management turn a blind eye whenever their leadership is put to test. Third party alliances and collaborations are questionable.
