What a terrible place to work

Pros

salary is usually pretty good, depending on your department, good bonus plan. you can learn all you can absorb

Cons

Some really bad middle management. Currently 'cleaning house' and firing or making the environment so challenging they quit. warehouses have been trashed, with no leadership left in them. Plants are going their own way. Supply is a shambles thanks to crappy leadership. Corporately a 'dog eat dog' environment, with no clue about what happens outside of Parsippany. "A" is for arrogance. People are our strongest asset? Not at Reckitt. Hope no one calls the EPA, DEA, or FDA.

Pros

You are given a high amount responsibility right from the start, esp. in regarding revenue tracking. Extremely steep learning curve, as you have to find your way in order to keep up. Great working atmosphere and flexibility in terms of working times and projects. You can absolutely live with an entrepreneurial spirit and bring the company forward with fresh ideas. Fantastic promotion opportunities and above average salaries.

Cons

The work life balance suffers quite a bit, as my position currently has to many tasks allocated to it. But this is a general problem at RB: You constantly have the impression that your project will just about work out, if you give 150% and spend many more hours in the office than stated in your contract. As I see it, the company has grown so fast that the structures could not keep up. Frankly there are just not enough employees and every single one has to compensate this deficit.

Pros

Very fast paced culture that allows you to learn many things quickly. Training? No such thing. You learn as you go along and you'd better have thick skin as you quickly find your way. Prove your worth fast or don't let the door hit you on the way out! Good compensation; above average bonuses (as long as you "hit your numbers" for the year); decent benefits as well.

Cons

Long days with longer hours. Kiss your social life goodbye because you will be expected to spend nearly every waking hour driving the business. If you're not someone who can run in fifth gear all the time, you'll burn out quickly. Being a workaholic is a prerequisite here. You'd better like to travel too because if you want to move up at RB you must be willing to relocate internationally. If not, nice knowing ya. The open work environment is a complete debacle. No offices (except of course for those at the top of the totem pole), no walls, no personal space, just rows and rows of adjoined desks as far as the eye can see.
