Pros
In the Engineering department I'm part of, there's a strong sense of community and the work culture is very positive overall. I have a strong support from my direct management and colleagues, which provides the best possible environment to work on challenging projects in a complex technical environment.
Cons
Projects are technically and organizationally intricate. If some of the big projects are late, it penalizes a lot of other projects that get late in return, which creates stress and forces a misinformed and hurried decision making from upper management, which in turns can produce an unhealthy environment for the workers to perform under pressure and without the time to do their best work.
