Pros

Good compensation and benefits (for now); generally friendly people that are easy to work with; can work on cutting-edge technology and for an industry leader; high retention rate, few people leave because this is considered the pinnacle of many fields; an environment that can have a grad-school feel at times (to a point, see: upcoming layoffs);

Cons

Crunch-time is the default state, expect to work evenings and weekends often, which will get worse with the hiring freeze; benefits and stock grants to be cut; rising is slow due to people entrenched in the top positions

Pros

1) Great benefits. 2) Living in San Diego. 3) Relatively high pay for the area. 4) Working with smart and talented people (If you are lucky enough to be on the right team). 5) Seeing your work be commercialized quickly.

Cons

1) No matter how much they try to promote this as a plus, there is no work life balance (at least in QCT). 2) Too much pointless politics - a week of meetings for 1 line of code. 3) 24/7, 7 days a week of stress since issues are always "urgent" and needed to be fixed immediately no matter what the time. 4) Middle management likes to give artificial pressure for no reason. 5) Doesn't always hire the most talented people.

Pros

- Good Medical, Dental, Vision benefits for now (will be getting worst) - Free on-site gym

Cons

- Projects are severely understaffed, resulting in engineers working very long hours. - No work/life balance. - Promotions are slow or nonexistent. - Management is useless and clueless. Will commit engineers to impossible deadlines without consulting the engineers. - Benefits are getting worst due to cost cutting. - Too many unnecessary meetings. Engineers waste their time in these meetings and do not have enough time to get the real work done.
