Pros

Some divisions are better than others. QCT is a good place to work because it generate consistent cash for the company. QIS, MediaFlo and other divisions are not as good because the respective businesses are not doing well. Excellent healthcare plan. Good vacation package. For most part you can expect a stable work environment and surrounded by generally high quality people.. Consistent pay raises

Cons

bonuses are erratic. Stock options are not worth much nowadays. So unless the company gives RSU's the compensation package is not very attractive. attrition rate is very low so there is a glut of managers who dont have enough work to do. this is leading to a politically charged environment

Pros

There are very few pros....after over a year I had to get out of this nut house. Firethorn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm in Atlanta. The employees enjoy all of the standard benefits Qualcomm is so well known for (great health plan, dental, stock options etc.). They do NOT enjoy any of the on site benefits other Qualcomm, San Diego employees have (a clinic, a dentist, childcare etc.). Buckhead is a great location to work.

Cons

If you want to work at Qualcomm, move to San Diego. Firethorn, may be owned by Qualcomm but it is not Qualcomm in its environment. To make matters worse, Qualcomm seems to care little about this business unit or the people there. It is truly a terrible place to work. The Firethorn Management team (aka the Inner Circle) is inept to a degree I have never experienced before. They are blind to the problems within the business unit and are driving the business into the ground, abandoning the core business line. Essentially they are treading water until they themselves can all leave with their stock options and new lives. If you are looking for a career path with Qualcomm, you will NOT find it here. No one outside of the Inner Circle (they sometimes refer to themselves as this) ever really moves up. There is no HR presence at Firethorn, only policies to snuggle up to. Lastly, there is no accountability or guidance. Firethorn is appropriate named. You will feel the sting from day one.

Pros

Good location. Lower cost of living than up north (Silicon Valley).

Cons

A lot of not-so-smart people who joined Qualcomm back in the 90s. I hate dumbing myself down to their level to explain them stuff.
