      Pros

      Qualcomm is one of the best employers to work for in San Diego. The compensation and benefits are great. Since mobile is a hot area right now, it's an interesting company to work.

      Cons

      Since it is a large company, one's experience may vary across divisions. I'm working in a division that creates software to support chipset sales. Overall I feel that upper management doesn't invest as many resources as it should to produce world class software. And since there is a low turnover rate, it feels like some people are too comfortable with their jobs, so the passion may not be there.

      technically challenging and will help you to gain very good knowledge about communication systems. Gives you a very clear understanding of how different companies involved in mobile space get their stuff integrated into the end product.

      Cons

      for a person who sees the bigger picture - working in Qualcomm might seem very limiting as the scope of your work is very narrow.
