Old in every sense of the word. Average age close to 40. Most people still program in C exclusively. Outdated organization - 3 people (system + software + test engineer) doing the job of 1 software engineer in silicon valley. Same business model from the 90s. Technology hasn't changed since 4G - 5G is just smoke and mirrors, and upper management doesn't know how to run anything else.

Work ethics are terrible in my department. Backstabbing and favorism are rampant and encouraged. Director/lead brought poor cultural values and has spoiled the work place. This poor culture encourages people to spy on each other and report to the upper management. Director/lead speaks foreign language in the lab and meetings. Managing by yelling and shaming in front of others. No hope for raises, bonuses, or promotions. A lot of good engineers have left already or planning to leave. HR department is useless and helpless, so there is no hope. Not a good place for young engineers.
