Pros

People, projects, potential - largest firm in the world and able to walk into any company with immediate recognition.

Cons

The size of the company has its downsize, sometimes feel like a number. There have been times while at PWC where I enter an engagement and no one else on the team has ever met nor heard of me before - even though we are in the same office! At times I am concerned with the mix of channel 1 vs. channel 2 being in tax. The preference seems to be having the channel 1 clients and if we cannot do that then go after channel 2 opportunities.

Pros

One of the best reasons to work for PwC is the various people one can meet and working with so many smart people. This job is fast paced and require you to continuously learn. You do get a chance to face daily challenges and to learn about the industry. I do get a chance to work with variety of people in different levels of position. We really learn to work in a team setting. In addition, you get to work and gain many interaction with the client. I have learned and am continuing to learn to manage the time and different people.

Cons

The biggest downside of working at PwC or at any Big four is the lack of work life balance. We are expected to work long hours for low compensation. One can get lost in such a huge company and will not receive the appropriate guidance. If you really seek to move forward in your career in the company, you have to manage your path and seeking out the right people to assist you in reaching your goal. You can get easily burnt out with the long hours and not feeling appropriately compensated. If we really calculated per hour what we made, it's a complete upset.
