      Mixed Bag

      Pros

      There appears to be decent work-life balance based on what I can see, although I am still very new to the firm so I cannot be for sure. But they talk about that a lot at least.

      Cons

      Salary does not appear to be consistent with industry practices - I hear many people complaining about how their friends at other "BIG 4" and niche consulting companies make more money.

      Long hours and low compensation

      Pros

      Good internal education plans, strong brand name, good possibilites for an international career, a good place to start your career. Decent benefits as over time compensation and flex time.

      Cons

      Really low salaries when working as an auditor. About 30-50 % lower than working as an accountant at regular corporation. Long hours when high season. Management is also auditors and not specialized in being leaders and role models. Being a good auditor doesnt mean that youre also a good leader. It takes long time to be a partner, often more than 10-12 years. In that time most people are fed up with waiting.

      Great as a start of one's career

      Pros

      Excellent place for a career start. Diversity in background and experience of the employees. Excellent training programs. An opportunity to work with and learn from great, knowledgeable and skillful professionals. The benefits package.

      Cons

      Favoritism in assigning work and in promotions. Politics vs. merit, which leads to a low morale and lack of motivation. Relatively low pay. Weak HR support and assistance. Formality in the mentor, coach programs. Great ideas from the Firm's high management do not get the proper application, execution at a "field" level. Emphasize on productivity and utilization without providing adequate administrative personnel support. Unexplainable feeling of guild, despite the long hours, overtime and misbalanced work-life lifestyle.
