Pros

1) Hadn't had a job in a year, so it was nice to be hired 2) Manager (depending on store) allows free employee meals while on the clock 3) If you are liked/know your job you get a lot of hours, 30 is not uncommon. 4) Paycards, always been a fan of these. 5) If they like you easy to be promoted to Shift Leader 6) If you have any common sense you'll seem god-like in your position, a lot of moronic people have worked for Pizza Hut in the past

Cons

1) Drama. Servers feel under pressure during the busy (summer) season and the shift leaders get the brunt of their ire. The manager then yells at the shift leader who in turn yells at the server to keep the heat off their back. 2) Time Management - they say it's essential, however it really means "do more work, get paid the same." Rather than play around with labor and use the excess labor hours to hire people to come in a few hours each day and complete basic tasks the management wants existing employee's to do these in addition to their current jobs. Often management is set in their ways and dislikes ideas of change, making perspective shift leaders feel like the job is not worth it. 3) Servers make the most money in the store period. Not a complaint against them, they do their job and know their stuff, but something is wrong when your shift leader makes less than a McDonalds assistant manager. Everything is placed on the shift managers shoulders, I don't know how they cope with a server coming in and in four hours making what they'll make all day. 4) Inspections. While it would make sense to stay ahead of the game and clean regularly (like a pre-inspection cleaning) the management is fond of telling you when you get at work, not previously, that in addition to your duties you've got to go down the list before you're allowed to leave. This leads to anger at not being forewarned, at the lack of time management, etc. 5) Talking behind peoples back seems to be a bigger issue here than anywhere else in my 3 1/2 years working at pizza places. Normally you can ignore this and move on but the management just likes to gossip and stay in a state of self-regulating anger towards perceived "wrongs" that are easily handled. Far to much emotion for a minimum wage job.

Pros

It helped pay bills and etc. while going to college. A large majority of the people that worked there were all nice. Slight discount on food, and got to eat anything that came off the buffet, assuming the General manager wasn't there.

Cons

I started as a cook and became cross trained as a driver with in two months which i was told i would be allowed more hours for that. It really meant that i would take orders, cook then deliver that same order to where ever its going. In most cases we we're understaffed especially for cooking usually myself and a manager hours hours with a one hour overlap of the next cooks shift. The city map used was also 4 years old with lots of streets taken out and some added which no one could find. No one including three of the staff managers had seen or heard of any promotion ever given out beyond becoming a staff manager which there was never any chance to advance not to mention the only assistant manager at the store is also the general managers daughter. the hours were horrible coming from class at noon and in most cases working two to midnight and going back to class by 7. The best days working there were when the General manager wasnt there to complain about everything and threaten anyones job who worked to slow or made a mistake no matter how small or needed to take time off. in the nine months i managed to stay there 17 people were fired or quit because of the general manager including to other staff managers. I left and warned others about there.
