A lot of terrific people work at Philips - very few in any level of management.

Cons

Very political and hostile environment. Management is threatened by anyone who has a brain and is not afraid to use it. Too many people in management have no interest, but their own, in moving the company forward. Decisions made are very short-sighted. Typical boys club with a couple of girls thrown in there that need to make a statement for themselves.

Not much going on in Finance. Good place for marketing.

Good work life balance. As an intern you are flexible to change your work schedule in advance. Staff and management are willing to help.

Cons

The level of responsibility given to interns depends on the department. Marketing interns are involved in forecast modelling projects while Finance interns are stuck with very basic expense accounting.
