Pros

The company still holds tremendous resources that it can apply -- if it can finally commit to a single vision for the future. The stock price is flat and has been that way despite products being launched and others recalled -- in this economy a flat stock price is pretty good. People like to knock Kindler (CEO) -- apparently there are thousands that believe they can do a better job -- but I think he has his hands tied by an underachieving board (and that's what needs change).

Cons

Change...change...change. The ink has not dried on one reorganization when another is already announced. The board is not laying out a consistent vision for the future of the company and enabling senior leaders to execute. It gets tiring listening to "old timers" complain about how the old Pfizer used to be so much better.

Pros

This seems to go against the grain here, but I see it as a great place to work. Smart, talented and ambitious people find opportunity. I see a lot of people with no desire to broaden their skills who complain and worry about unfairness and layoffs. It's very true that I may get the ax one day, but in the meantime I focus on doing the best I can do, making meaningful connections and broadening my industry knowledge. The pay and benefits are fantastic, and there is enough going on to keep anyone engaged. Overall- if you can get you foot in the door- it's a great place to work.

Cons

Unmotivated, negative, and grandfathered-in coworkers who waste their days paranoid and complaining.

Pros

You are making products that help people live better lives. The company has good values and nice people working there. The pay and benefits are excellent. The company is also great about paying for continuing education training. Colleagues have plenty of activities and opportunities for work life balance.

Cons

They need to get more products to replace Lipitor when it goes off patent. There is still too much bureaucracy. Due to issues in the U.S., there have been a lot of job cuts.
