Pros

good name to put down in work history. Decent health insurance benefits.

Cons

long hours, minimal guidance from supervisors, low pay. Management offers very little respect for staff and raises are minimal. work is 12 hours or more a day and they keep throwing things on your plate. PBG wants work horses that wont complain and are happy to not advance in the company. If you do not ¨fit in¨with management, they will pass you by for any promotions. Raises are only 2 or 3% (which in reality is the cost of living increase) so your always behind. There is no loyalty towards employees who have worked there for decades. Everyone is dispensible at any time, if they want to reduce labor costs.

Pros

The healthcare benefits are wonderful.

Cons

It is completely about politics. Many lazy people who go to the topless bars with their bosses, and go out for drinking get promoted. Meanwhile, those that do an honest day's work get left behind. The pay is a joke for the work you do. Pepsi has many unbelieveable hurdles to meet. And when they are not met, they play the blame game for reasons why the numbers had not been me. They rarely look at the fact that they underpay the employess, expect them to work on assigned holidays, weekends. Yet if you are in the "club" you can get away with murder.

Pros

Big company, good brands, opportunity to get good experience. Structured environment, good training ground.

Cons

Caustic culture at times, not very people-oriented. Ulitmately, you are evaluated based on whether or not you can meet/beat your numbers, which in theory is a good rule, but marketing managers are not in control of establishing what those numbers should be, even after months of doing analysis. Senior management will just tell you what they want the numbers to be. So being a marketing manager gives you all the responsibility but none of the control. That is not a very empowering or motivating position to be in.
