Pros

Great work/life balance if you're in the right location. Advancement opportunities within the company and your senior managers will help you get there. Hands on experience managing people and making decisions on the fly. A caution to all, your experience with vary depending on the location. I've been very fortunate where I'm at, but I've heard horror stories from other people who are just putting in ridiculous hours to get the job done. Be prepared to give feedback to your employees and take a hands on approach. This position is not for people who are expecting to just look at a computer monitor and create reports all day. Your primary job function is to ensure the sales team is supported by managing your employees. Once you've got that down, you'll have the opportunity to devote more of your time towards your career goals.

Cons

Benefits NOT at the level of some other fortune 500 companies. Working on holidays (yes, that includes super bowl). Vacation policy.

Pros

I believe that the management's attitude towards all their employees fosters an environment where you are allowed to think outside of the box and work outside of your comfort level.

Cons

Long hours, however the job's compensation level makes up for the change in personal life scheduling. Also some HR issues.

Pros

The pay appears to be beyond other companies in the same industry. Pepsico salaries are composed of several parts, base salary for the position with merit increases based on the industry average or standard, annual bonus, premium bonus , top performer bonus and then stock options in most case. The bonuses are not given right away in some cases..in order to have retention the bonuses are split across three years as well as some of the stock options..If someone decides to work for this company I believe the pay structure would be in line with duties requested. Not a problem in this category.

Cons

Very large company with over 185,000 employees...might not know all about other opportunities. The companies has enough areas that sometimes folks could get lost in the shuffle. The company has 18 brands that are least above $1 billion in sales. With that type of success it might be difficult for one to change from area of the company to the next unless specifically groomed to do so. They do have an executive intern program which considers young MBA's right out of school or currently in school over the summer months. Great opportunity to get some hands on experience. Downside would be those already in the company who may be pursuing MBA's. Not fully disclosed what kind of possibilities would occur after successful completion.
