Thank you for providing this insightful review. We are constantly tweaking and improving our training and development program to attract and retain employees. The advice you provided is great and will be passed along to the training team. However I suggest that you also share these great ideas with your DSM.

IT is a mixed bag

Pros

Strong Co-Op program with Rochester Institute of Technology which has led to numerous full time hires after which does help bring in eager young new talent.

Cons

Always pay at the absolute bottom end of a salary range for starting employees. IT is still a very segmented division without a lot of communication between departments. New management is trying to clean this up but a decade+ of bad business decisions and crazy processes are a mountain to overcome. Agile process might be right direction for our development teams but not so much IT. Just competent managers and project managers that know how to run projects and manage employees would suffice.

Pros

They offer work from home, reasonable pay but you have to put in a few years to get there, good vacation and sick pay.

Cons

Some of the programs don't work well and there is no rush to fix issues. There is an atmosphere of using workarounds instead of fixing glitches in a timely manner.
