Pros

Good for the entry level to learn the hard working culture & the Asian way of running the restaurant business. You will learn a lot of cleaning & fix up for the owner & senior management visit.....

Cons

First generation executive, second generation operator, low end store manager from the bottom of the barrel. Low tech, complicated operation & tight cost control but expecting an exceptional bottom line!!

Pros

+ Decent starting pay for management and management trainees + Met some good youth working lower ranking positions while they studied during their high school years. Although relatively unreliable they can be really funny and make the monotonous shifts so much easier. Also, to the right manager some of the youth are prime for a good mentor. Although i dont work with the company anymore, i keep in touch with a handful of associates and have offered help in resume building, etc.

Cons

- Zero work life balance. When i was a management trainee i was being worked like a dog (~60 hours a week). There were more than a few weeks where i didnt have any days off. You are not respected by putting in this amount of time, the company culture simply expects it out of you. - Poor leadership especially in the Colorado area. Seriously. - There is an open door policy with a catch. Feel free to voice your concerns but be careful as to who you voice them to and how you word said concerns. If you slip up and say something ‘wrong’ it will most likely lead to a harder time progressing. When talking to superiors you are literally coached on how to act and what to say. Disingenuous. - Dog eat dog. Everyone is out for themselves. They say its a family-owned company and with it comes a close knit culture. Well in my family we dont throw each other under the bus to get ahead of one another. Which is something i experienced personally and saw happen on more than a few occasions. Told explicitly by the RDO (alongside an ACO and a TL) that in a management position i needed to find the rotten apples and was told i needed to find them, outplay them, and i kid you not, “SLIT THEIR THROATS FROM BEHIND.” I cannot emphasize this experience enough. Again I was told this by the RDO! - High turnover in lower ranking positions which has many implications. People dont want to work the hours. Not only do people quit often, but many employees simply dont show up to shifts. Many times these people arent fired because the company is in need of so much help, and cant run much leaner than it already does. And managers cant get out and actively seek more new hires when they are already busy covering a handful of shifts 6-7 days a week.

Pros

- Outstanding training in areas such as communication and real (from the scratch) cooking. - Great bonus system. One of the best in the market. - Benefit package is A+. You really can make money if you put it in.

Cons

- Reportedly and absurd preference to promote mostly Asian people. Around 97% of their medium/high ranks are from that origin, even though lower levels are in the opposite proportion. - Managers are "working style" one, who are part of the crew schedule, so that makes your job extremely hard, therefore you end up working +60 hours a week and/or no days off. - Insane and ridiculous worshiping culture towards their founders and Chinese culture.
