Pros

Great company, I was an assistant manager for many years, only reason I gave 3 stars. The people I worked with were great. Their benefits were AMAZING. Benefits were why I loved working there. Andrew and Peggy Cherng are great people and love this company.

Cons

Upper management does not care. I can not stress that enough. I left the company over literal verbal abuse day after day. I felt like I was no longer appreciated, and it's sad because I really loved panda. The chinese culture does not have people skills sometimes and they obviously do not care about HR and will threaten to take away jobs and hours cause you're not good enough. I worked my hardest for 5+ years and kept striving to be better but driving home crying everyday wasn't healthy for my life.

Pros

-Above minimum wage pay -The company encourages healthy lifestyles, happy living, and self growth -Laid back to a degree -I personally enjoyed my coworkers -Fun job for high energy, happy people -The regulars (customers) that are kind, polite, and chummy make it worth working there. -Cleaning expectations are high (nice clean stores)

Cons

-Absolutely NO work-life balance. Part time really means 30/40 hours and anything less you are worthless to them. -Management does not support education. Balancing college and working at Panda is IMPOSSIBLE! Many coworkers (those who were PICs and higher positions) failed their classes due to management's lack of support. They worked tireless hours. TERRIBLE JOB FOR STUDENTS! -Expect a 50-70 hour work week if you are a cook or person in charge. (two of my coworkers work over 60 hours as cooks) -High stress, fast paced. -Cleaning expectations are high (a lot of work for the pay) -Overtime is frowned upon. Some people work off the clock. -If you are in charge, the company expects you to love to eat Panda, have an athletic figure along with an extremely healthy lifestyle, adore work, and not care about your diminishing personal life. The company inspects management's cars to make sure that they are representing the company in a clean, respectable manner. They get into your face if you smoke and demand you quit. Anything dirty or impure about you (things that should be personal and none of the company's business) will be pointed out and demanded to be changed . You are Panda property if you are management. You might as well sleep in your car in the parking lot, because you will almost never be home. -Schedules are made SATURDAY NIGHT. I never have any clue when I am working. The latest the schedule came out was Monday of that work week. Management does not care about your availability. -Management is under prepared to say the least. When I was a high school student, they called me during school hours to come in and cover a shift. I'm sorry for the long list of cons. I honestly wish I was making this stuff up, but all of this is the Panda Express I work for. Or Panda Express in the Midwest anyways. I am really hoping this is not the case everywhere.
