Great people, not a competitive atmosphere Benefits are pretty good Career development opportunities if you make the effort to go get them

Cons

Work/life balance is not important to PPG Can be extremely political Cut corners/save money in the wrong areas sometimes (don't value employees as much as the shareholders)

Flexible work hours Prestigious company in Pittsburgh

Cons

Very male-dominated culture. Few women in management positions. Stingy with vacation time. Little opportunity for advancement. People who are hired right out of college get preference in promotions and career advancement. If you join as an experienced hire you will have a much tougher time of it.

Full support from everyone involved in work from upper management to hourly employees. PPG is growing fast.

Cons

As a contract engineer I am very limited in access to records, drawings, ect.
