Pros

Good initial pay (when you first get hired) If you are lucky, you can join a good team where you can learn You might work on something very interesting Cimr 6%

Cons

Virtually no salary progression Extremely poor people management (for instance: we rated our manager very poorly on most metrics, he ended up getting promoted and hire more people) Extremely toxic and fake environment (at least that was the case for my team and most people i knew) Job description doesn’t match the work you will do No bonuses (except rsus which has a lot of constraints)

Pros

1. Money & benefits. 2. Name brand. 3. Work life balance, depending on the team. 4. Nice teammates (at least for me.) 5. Feels cool.

Cons

1. There are years away from building the HQ - currently not even started. 2. You feel like a cog in the machine. 3. Lay offs - 6 am email sent to ~30K employees. 4. Slow growth ~2-3 years for promotion which did not increase base salary - just additional RSUs (~12K/year) and still need to wait a full year before. vesting. Thus, only a change in title. 5. No exposure to upper management besides your own manager. 6. Zero snacks
