Pros

The brand is highly regarded by other companies and recruiters.

Cons

The three Ts of sales (Territory, Timing and Talent) are what makes or breaks you. Territories are remarkably unfair cut. Do not get fouled the majority of reps will never! make their target and thats not due to a lack of trying. (Amsterdam is an expensive city if you live of your base salary...). Timing becomes a gamble due to very long sales circles. Talent can’t overcome the bad territories and bad timing. Moreover the company change the compensation plan, to their favor within an ongoing fiscal!! Meaning you got less for your deals than agreed on before... Within 2 years the new department was started and closed. All 40 employees who were recruited from Germany lost their job. The office was transferred 4! times during this period. The company is claiming to produce state of the art IT, but runs itself on 80s corporate IT. Tools are even crashing on their own! Java products. In general internal process make up a the lion share of your task. Talk about selling internally rather than to external. Career improvement is difficult because your manager will change every year, which means starting from scratch. It is a difficult place that will you leave cynical and emotionally drained.

Pros

Young friendly workforce, made a lot of friends. Can get by on doing nothing for months, if you're so inclined. Being in business development is more lucrative than being an actual sales rep.

Cons

Was sexually harassed daily, had to go to therapy to deal with the constant harassment. Open floor plan allows men to come to your desk and talk to you endlessly, HR does nothing to stop it, even if you file a complaint. Was truly anxious all day long while working here. When I complained to management they victim-blamed and said I should change what I wear to work, rather than addressing the aggressor's behavior. Management does not care about you, only cares about hitting their sales goals. Men do not listen to women's input and will openly ignore you/ talk over you. New accounts/ products to sell every single June 1. If you are working a deal and it crosses a cut off you do not get paid, the new rep does. No incentive to work hard. They DO NOT care about their customers at all, not even a little bit. I honestly think that senior management is a bunch of incompetent ex-frat boys, including Mark Hurd. Never took a sick day because my manager always made me feel terrible for being at work.

Pros

NONE - the health insurance is great The potential to earn $$$ is there but see below

Cons

Bad management Poor systems Koolaid is all lies Your biggest competitor is Oracle Worst part of the sales job is trying to book a deal A FAT company who tells a lot of lies to it staff who then go to market with the wrong message / lies to their customers They have an integrity matters campaign which is led by senior management which is the biggest load of rubbish as the word INTEGRITY is the antithesis of how the company culture is... Back stabbing of colleagues Complex rules regulations and procedures and admin heavy systems which takes away from your ability to sell Customers coming last, employees second last Do the dirty now apologies later (if caught) Promises renaged on XLOB politics and infighting are closer to the real company culture Toe the line or your life is made very difficult If you ask for assistance from support areas you are a pain and creating work for them....REALLY You need a BIG gun, a horse and a holster to fit in there is so many cowboys in the place. Yeeeehawwww!!
