Pros

Oracle benefits are pretty good relatively to other companies. Gym is excellent with heated outdoor swimming pool and towels. The gym is cleaner than most commercial ones. The cafeteria food is better than average. Relocation benefits are excellent. If you don't have a degree, I believe Oracle pays for you degree if you can get it approved somehow.

Cons

Management treats the engineers like disposable workers. The work is boring. The environment is very political. Oracle also tend to layoff its own workers in favor of the workers gained from large acquisitions. At least that was the case with Peoplesoft acquisition.

Pros

"Oracle" on your resume would help you get your next job. There are some opportunities to shine and make your mark in the industry. If you are a budding/aspiring Managerial candidate, Oracle is a good place to work - A lot to learn here.

Cons

Compensation & Employee Rewards/Raise suck big time! Majority of the annual revenues are diverted in stupid acquisition to increase stockholders value. Very little for employees. Political environment. Rigidity in knowledge sharing. Many a times it feels like they make very optimistic promises to their customer which burdens the engineers to put in extra hours to meet the deadlines. If not met, leaves a black spot on your performance.
